elementor - v3.14.0 - 26-06-2023 *\/\n.elementor-widget-text-editor.elementor-drop-cap-view-stacked .elementor-drop-cap{background-color:#69727d;color:#fff}.elementor-widget-text-editor.elementor-drop-cap-view-framed .elementor-drop-cap{color:#69727d;border:3px solid;background-color:transparent}.elementor-widget-text-editor:not(.elementor-drop-cap-view-default) .elementor-drop-cap{margin-top:8px}.elementor-widget-text-editor:not(.elementor-drop-cap-view-default) .elementor-drop-cap-letter{width:1em;height:1em}.elementor-widget-text-editor .elementor-drop-cap{float:left;text-align:center;line-height:1;font-size:50px}.elementor-widget-text-editor .elementor-drop-cap-letter{display:inline-block}<\/style>\t\t\t\t<p>El pueblo de El Frago hunde sus or\u00edgenes en la Edad Media, primero como lugar de frontera, despu\u00e9s como uno de los n\u00facleos surgidos de la repoblaci\u00f3n cristiana.<\/p><p>Las gentes de El Frago han explotado y gestionado su entorno natural, junto a la tradicional actividad agropecuaria y como cualquier otra comunidad rural, se desarrollaron tambi\u00e9n numerosas actividades artesanales: tejedores, herreros\u2026, pero entre todas ellas destac\u00f3 la producci\u00f3n de carb\u00f3n vegetal.<\/p><p>Hasta la mitad del siglo XX, el carbonero fue un complemento econ\u00f3mico fundamental, aprovechando los meses invernales, terminadas las tareas agr\u00edcolas, los fragolinos, organizados en peque\u00f1as cuadrillas se dirig\u00edan al monte, de su propio t\u00e9rmino o de los lim\u00edtrofes, para iniciar el proceso de elaboraci\u00f3n del carb\u00f3n vegetal.<\/p><p>La base de la producci\u00f3n es el bosque bajo, dominada por las carrascas, con una madera densa, de crecimiento lento y muy lignificado, un material m\u00e1s productivo para el carb\u00f3n vegetal que la madera de los bosques h\u00famedos.<\/p><p>La tarea comenzaba con el corte de la madera o picado de amplias zonas, que a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s pod\u00edan volver a ser utilizadas para la misma funci\u00f3n. Tras el acarreo de la le\u00f1a a una zona inmediata, se proced\u00eda a la formaci\u00f3n de la cabera o carbonera, una gran estructura circular, de perfil semiesf\u00e9rico, ligeramente apuntado.<\/p><p>La clave del proceso era una buena construcci\u00f3n, con sus correspondientes chimeneas y boqueras, tras los troncos de mayor tama\u00f1o, los huecos se rellenaban con ramas y una capa de tierra, de modo que se obtuviera una combusti\u00f3n lenta, sin entrada de demasiado ox\u00edgeno que llevara a la aparici\u00f3n de llamas.<\/p><p>Una vez terminada, se proced\u00eda al encendido y durante varias jornadas, d\u00eda y noche, bajo la atenta vigilancia de los carboneros se completaba el proceso de convertir la madera en carb\u00f3n. Durante el proceso, la cabera ir\u00e1 perdiendo volumen y adquiriendo un perfil m\u00e1s redondeado.<\/p><p>Cuando se hab\u00eda enfriado, previa limpieza de la capa exterior, se proced\u00eda al transporte del carb\u00f3n limpio en carros para su comercializaci\u00f3n hacia los centros consumidores y distribuidores, normalmente a Ejea de los Caballeros o Zaragoza.<\/p><p>El auge de la actividad carbonera, durante el siglo XIX y parte del XX es consecuencia del aumento de la demanda en el marco de desarrollo del pa\u00eds, el mismo proceso que finalmente dejar\u00e1 obsoleta esta
